How great are bats? They are, to quote bat expert Merlin Tuttle, "shy and winsome creatures." They're effective pollinators, generally live in gigantic communities, and the insect-eating varieties eat *so many* insects. This bookish bat is reading up on the very best bugs, and possibly planning a midnight luncheon.
This hard enamel pin is modeled on the northern long-eared bat and has a gold metal finish. It's approximately 1.25" tall by 1" wide, with two sky-blue rubber clutch backs. The artist's name (mine) is embossed on the back, and the pin comes on an illustrated card that features a lovely night sky and an enthusiastically echolocating bat.
This pin can be worn with the bat pointing up ("right-side up," if you'd like) or down ("upside-down," unless you, yourself, are a bat), a fact I'm pretty proud of. It will also be packaged on the backing card with the bat's head pointing up or down (it'll be a surprise).
The pin will be packed in tissue paper and a padded envelope to protect it from damage. Please note that pins have been checked multiple times but may have some very small imperfections. You will receive a B+/A grade pin, not a perfect or collector-grade pin.
